In this unit, students will explore different ways an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) could be used in the context of a forest fire. Students will start with basic calculations on height and speed, and move on to determining actual drone elevation using Pythagorean theorem, finding the area of a forest fire using several different methods, and finally determine whether max load or more smaller loads would be more fuel efficient.
