Discovered in Iraq, the Baghdad Battery dates from 2000 years ago. The “battery” consists of a clay jar, a copper cylinder and an iron core. Inside the jar was evidence of vinegar. All these ingredients are the same one could use to create a battery. Testing these Baghdad batteries yielded a little over a volt of electricity. So, the question is, what would an ancient Iraqi use with a battery? See the fascinating video at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zffTsotd-tY
