Eating healthy is good for bears too!

Researchers have found that black bears in Colorado that eat junk food hibernate less and age faster. That may not be startling news to us as that is what our family doctor continually warns us about! What is interesting is how they can tell what bears have been eating. They examined their diet by testing the bears for Carbon 13. Researchers can determine the source of the food as Carbon 13 is found in higher concentrations in corn and cane sugar.
