Before you get too excited…it was a fossil frog. Remains of a helmeted frog was found near an upper peninsula of Antarctica, called Seymour Island. Frogs cannot live in a frozen environment, so the climate in Antarctica must have been very different when this creature hoped about. Relatives of this species can be found in the warm and wet environments of South America. How did Antarctica get so cold?
