Ever call a cat by saying, “Here kitty, kitty?” It turns out that cats, like dogs, recognize their own names. In studies with cats, scientists discovered that when they said a cat’s name among other words, cats responded significantly. They moved their paw, tail, head, or ears differently when they heard their name among four other words uttered by their owners. The question still remains, if a cat hears its name, will it listen?
