Two earth-like planets have been discovered on a “nearby” solar system. The term “nearby” is relative. The distance from earth is 12 light years, or the distance light would travel 12 years: 70 trillion miles. If someone from this planet sent a radio signal to earth, we would receive it 12 years later. The two earths are much closer to their sun, but they remain cool because the star is a dwarf that puts out less energy than our earth’s sun. Astrophysicists are using specialized telescopes to study these planets to determine if they have the kinds of elements and molecules to support ET.
