The data is in. If you run as little as once per week your chances of beating a premature death is 27% better than those who do not run. Past studies have not been conclusive, but this new, larger study suggests that running is like medicine. If you run three per week it has a positive effect on your long-term health. Too much running can have a negative effect, however. As Elaine Murphy, the researcher says: “Any amount of running is better than none.”
