High in the Himalayas there is an icy lake that has bones of over 500 bodies scattered on its shores and in its waters. Many have theorized about how these bones came to be in this 16,470 foot elevation lake. One story is that travelers in the 9th century were hit by a sudden hailstorm. Radio-carbon dating shows that some skeletons are as old as 1800 BCE while others are dated at 850 BCE and some as late as 1800 AD. Recently, a DNA sample was extracted from samples of these skeletons. Mysteriously, the skeletons DNA showed that a significant number had origins from the Mediterranean—thousands of miles away! What could explain such a mystery?
