When a tarantula reaches its 10th birthday, it is time to find a mate. Males get walking and travel up to a mile looking for a female hunkered down in a burrow. Unfortunately, whether they find their match or not, the males all perish by the end of November. Sounds like a Shakespearean tragedy!
