What’s Under Your Skin?

A tattoo presses ink deep into the skin. Tattoo artists must be certified by each state for cleanliness and method. You can be sure it is a sterile and safe process…but wait. What are in the inks that they are using? As it turns out, there is no regulation on the ink that the artist uses! Some hydrocarbons in inks have been shown to be initially carcinogenic and others have been shown to decay in the skin and transform into carcinogens. There are some relatively safe inks.
