If you see something wiggly on your sushi you probably have parasite that wants to invade your digestive tract. These worms feed on the skin and muscle of ocean fish like salmon, so there’s a chance you’ve seen one. Luckily, they are killed when the fish is frozen or cooked, but if you are a raw fish eater, be on the lookout! Eating one can lead to vomiting and diarrhea. Worms like this have increased in numbers in the ocean, recently and no one is sure why.
